Noll e Rushdie: escritas contemporâneas do corpo

Resumo

Este artigo propõe uma leitura do corpo na literatura contemporânea, focalizando especificamente as representações de um corpo transgressor, que tanto pode assumir um caráter erótico quanto abjeto. Para tanto, examinaremos a escrita do corpo em dois romances: A céu aberto (1996), de João Gilberto Noll e Shame (1983), de Salman Rushdie, no intuito de demonstrar que o romance de Noll constrói a representação de um corpo objeto, profundamente sensual, de modo a transgredir a concepção binária de gênero; enquanto que no romance de Rushdie o corpo feminino sofre mutações até transformar-se em um corpo abjeto, encontrando na violência o ato supremo de transgressão das normas do patriarcado.

ABSTRACT: This article considers a reading of the body in contemporary literature, focusing specifically the representations of a transgressor body, which can either assume an erotic or an abject character. In order to do it, we will examine the body writing in two novels: A céu aberto (1996), by João Gilberto Noll, and Shame (1983), by Salman Rushdie, to demonstrate that Noll’s novel constructs the representation of an object body, deeply sensuous, to  transgress the binary conception of gender; whereas in Rushdie’s novel, the feminine body undergoes mutations  until changing itself into an abject body, finding in violence the supreme act of transgressing the rules of patriarchy.
